An idea that I am working on to add literacy to my Earth Science classes
is poetry.  A friend of mine who teaches 6th grade English emailed me
all of these different one page worksheets/directions for different
examples of poetry - Haiku, Acrostic, Free verse, etc. and I
changed/wrote an ES example.  2nd 9 weeks I am probably going to use
them as warm-ups &/or homework assignments.  I am more than happy to
post copies of the worksheets on here if a lot of people want them - or
you can just email me off the list.

Acrostic example - EARTH

Earthquake

Atmosphere

Rocks

Transform boundaries

Heat
