Honors Erosion/Deposition Project

 My agent is: ___________________

 Materials needed:

Fine-tipped permanent markers, 1 Chinese food container w/clear top, non-drying clay

 Main Idea:

To create a diorama/3-D model for one agent of erosion/deposition in the plastic Chinese container.  The model will show several of the erosional and depositional features of that agent, fashioned from clay.

 Required Activities:

Part 1:

Do some research on your particular agent of erosion/deposition.  Using your notes, textbook, review book, and Internet, create a list of all the erosional and depositional features you can find, and give a brief description of each feature.

Part 2*:

Create a model of your agent of erosion and several of its erosional and depositional features.  The model should fit inside the Chinese food container.  The lid should fit comfortably on top of the container without hitting the features inside.  The inside should look appropriate for the particular agent you are creating.  The only 3-D part inside should be the clay-formed features.  All other parts of the model should be drawn in with the fine-tipped markers (ex: green for foliage, blue for water, brown for soil or beaches, etc)

Part3:

After your model is complete inside, replace the lid on top.  Then, using permanent markers again, label the name for each feature.  Use one color for erosional features, and another for depositional features.  Include with your final project a written list of all the features along with their descriptions.

*There should be at least 3 depositional features and 3 erosional features.  More will get you extra credit.
